Wash the skin with soap and water. Dry area completely(do not use anything with alcohol substance). On the first layer apply generous amount of numbing cream to the area then rub it in. For the second layer apply thick amount but do not rub it in. Let it sit on top of the first layer.
Cover the area with plastic wrap (Saran or Glad) for 1 - 2 hours. The heat under the plastic wrap helps activate the cream and keeps it from drying off.
Check it from time to time, by poking or pinching it. If you don't feel any sensation, remove the plastic wrap and wipe off the excess cream with just clean cloth or gauze do not wash it with water or wipes with alcohol.
