Cuts, scratches, and scrapes are a common part of growing up. Fortunately, the human body is incredibly flexible, and capable of curing itself effectively and quickly. Unfortunately, sometimes scars are left as souvenirs.

For those who want to remove scars, there’s a perfect solution available for them- cosmetic dermatology. It has helped many people for years to reduce the pain and after-effects of cuts and scrapes. It’s perfect to lessen the developing scars.

Here are a few of the most important steps you can take, keeping in mind the risk of future scars.

  1. Clean injuries instantly: This is a very simple decision, which lessens the risk of infection. It lets your injury to heal quickly and naturally. Make sure that you clean the area thoroughly with an antibacterial solution, and to remove dust and dirt completely. And then, bandage the injury properly.
  2. Keep the area covered: Once your injury has been cleaned and secured, it is really important to keep it protected. And, to keep it protected, change your bandage on time and tenderly clean the area. Don’t ever try to scratch, rub or itch the area, if any sensation occurs. If the sensation is more, apply topical numbing cream to ease any kind of skin irritation for at least few hours.
  3. Avoid Sun: Try to avoid your cut or scrapes from exposing it to the sun. Exposing the injury to the sun means you are directly coming in contact to UV rays and harming the skin. Your injured skin will start burning and it may cause a redness around.
  4. Moisturize the wound: Keeping your cut covered with bandage should help keep it more moisturized. And, keep moisturizing the area around the bandage to avoid skin cracking. Similarly, while changing the bandage, apply a topical numbing cream like, Dr.Numb®, on the wound to avoid dryness and pain around the wound. This will ultimately lower the risk of scarring.
