Things every woman should know about painless and effective hair removal treatment

Who doesn’t like smooth, flawless skin? It’s a dream of every woman. But to achieve it women have to undergo certain painful techniques using wax, epilators and other tools. However, in the recent years, laser hair removal treatment has become more popular - it offers permanent hair removal, and is less painful in comparison to other treatments.

If you’ve decided to go for laser treatment, here are some important things that you need to know about painless and effective hair removal.

1. Modern laser hair removal systems are not painful

The very latest hair removal systems such as the Soprano Ice Platinum system offer painless treatment. While, most clients usually experience only a gentle warming sensation in the area being treated, others feel mild sensation of needles but it’s hardly painful.

2. Skin cooling methods to reduce pain

Contact cooling is preferred during laser hair removal. This is done through window cooling by circulating water or other internal coolants. This type of cooling is very efficient method to keep the epidermis protected since it provides a constant heat sink at the skin surface.

3. Different types of laser wavelengths

You can select a laser that works best for your skin and hair type to ensure less pain during your treatment.

Alex – 755nm is best for lighter skin types, as well as pale and fine hair.

Diode – 810nm is good for different skin types.

ND: YAG 1064nm – It is the best option for darker skin types and darker haired patients.

4. Number of treatments

Generally, six to eight treatments are recommended to achieve optimum results with some stronger hair growth areas such as the face and private areas. Facial laser hair treatment should be done every four weeks for the first four treatments then every four to six weeks thereafter. Body laser hair removal treatments are performed every six weeks for the first four treatments then every six to eight weeks afterward.

5. Patch testing

A patch test is important before beginning laser hair removal. It lets the laser therapist check that your skin is suitable for laser hair removal. During this time, you can ask them about your doubts or final queries you may have about the treatment.

6. How to prepare yourself

Do not indulge in any type of hair removal procedure, such as waxing, threading or hair removal creams for six weeks prior to treatment. Prevent your skin from sun exposure, sunbeds or any kind of fake tan for to eight weeks. Besides that, follow the instructions given to you by your therapist. You should also be clear about the do's and don’t during the laser hair removal treatment.
