5 Essential Tips for Someone with Sensitive Skin

Worried about your sensitive skin? Check out here the effective caring tips for your sensitive skin to avoid rashes and red spots.

Does your skin get rashes, dry patches and redness more often? Do you feel burning while being in the sun? Do cosmetics reach harms to your skin? If so, it means your skin is sensitive and you need different strategy to look after your skin. You need extra care and need to protect your skin from sun and pollution. Here are the effective tips for caring sensitive skin.

Consider What You Buy:

Does any cosmetic go well with your sensitive skin? Probably not! Many products don’t work on sensitive skin because of their ingredients causing irritation and redness. You may like to use the cosmetics which are suitable for your skin. Read the label and check if they contain suitable skin elements like Chamomile, azulene, bisabolol, allantoin, lavender, camphor, calamine, rosemary, and aloe-vera. Most of the skin care products contain few ingredients, little or no fragrance, antibacterial, alcohol and retinoid and alpha hydroxyl acids. Always use mild soap, cleansers, and moisturizers. Try to choose the fragrance free products.

Skin Test Always Comes First:

Besides choosing the products for sensitive skin, skin test must be your utmost priority. While applying a new product, always test it on your skin by using it behind the ear. Now, wait for at least 24 hours and check if you feel any irritation or redness. For a hypersensitive skin, you need to do this again, this time near to your eye area. If any unwanted symptom doesn’t occur, this product is meant for your skin.

Hydrate Your Skin:

Moisture is essential for every skin type, especially the sensitive one. Water prevents your skin to be dried out. You can use any moisturizer that is especially made for the sensitive skin. Besides, there are many ways to keep your sensitive skin moisturized. Avoid using hot water and harsh soaps while bathing and use moisturizer in morning and bedtime.

Take Care of Your Diet:

You can take care of your sensitive skin with the right diet. Switching to healthy foods not only take the toxins out of your body but also maintain the glow on your skin. You can take Omega 9 fatty acid foods like avocados which are useful to reduce redness and irritation. Raspberries are rich in antioxidants while Kale supports your skin’s elasticity.

Drink adequate water and juices to keep your skin hydrated. But not all healthy foods are good for your sensitive skin. Cut on the glutton rich foods like wheat flour, rye, barley and splet. Minimize the use of dairy products, processed food, wine, additives, and soy food.

Be Smart with Your Sunscreen:

Overexposure to the sun is harmful for the sensitive skin. Use sunscreen thoroughout the year to protect your skin from gleaming sun rays. Choose the one with SPF 30 or higher and make sure they contain zinc oxide and titanium dioxide which are less harmful than oxybenzone, octylcrylene, and octinoxate.
