In fact, it is one of top ten American’s fears despite the fact that vaccination is done within 20 seconds.

If you are part of this injection fearing population, you are tempted several times to skip a vaccination.

However, a vaccination is the important part of the medical care including immunization and checkups/ tests. This is why you can’t afford to skip or delay vaccinations just because of the pain and fear.

While you can’t take the pain out of the vaccination, you can do several things to deal with the fear of injections.

Face Your Fear:

Knowing the whole situation can help you overcome fear of needles and injections. You can do research about injections, history and their purpose. Know why they are important to prevent the diseases and infection.

  • Relax your muscles.
  • After 30 seconds, tense your muscles again.
  • Perform this sequence for five times.

Bring a friend or family member with you:

Ask your friend to accompany you while having shots. A presence of familiar person will boost your confidence. You can ask them to hold your hand tightly during the procedure.

Tell Your Doctor or Nurse About Your Fear:

Express your injection fear to physician or nurse so that they can be extra careful while giving you a shot. A physician provides you consultation and the ways to be relaxed.

Distract yourself:
